The agreement between you and Ames Auto Detail LLC when you book or use our services. We've kept this in plain language wherever possible.
This document is starter content drafted to fit the Ames Auto Detail business model. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by an attorney. Before publishing, a Wisconsin business attorney should review and adapt the language to your specific circumstances and any state requirements.
By booking a service through the Ames Auto Detail website, calling, texting, emailing, or otherwise engaging us to perform detailing work, you ("Customer", "you") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") with Ames Auto Detail LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("Ames", "we", "us", "our").
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not book a service. Continuing to use our services after Terms updates constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Ames is a mobile auto detailing service operating in southwest Wisconsin. We provide cleaning, polishing, ceramic coating, and related vehicle care services at the customer's chosen location (driveway, parking lot, job site) as described on our website and in your specific booking.
Service descriptions, durations, and pricing on our website are typical for standard-condition mid-size passenger vehicles. Actual time and cost may vary based on vehicle size, condition, and any approved add-ons. Final pricing is shown before booking confirmation.
We reserve the right to decline service for any vehicle or location we determine is unsafe, unsuitable, or outside our expertise, with full refund of any deposit paid.
All bookings are personally reviewed before confirmation. Submitting a booking request through our website does not constitute a guaranteed appointment. You will receive a confirmation text or email within one business day with the final scheduled time. We reserve the right to decline or reschedule any booking before confirmation.
Bookings totaling $200 or more require a $50 deposit through Stripe at the time of booking. Deposits apply toward your final balance. Bookings under $200 do not require a deposit.
Final payment is due upon service completion. We accept credit/debit cards (via Stripe), Square contactless and chip payments, and other electronic methods as available. Cash and check may be accepted at our discretion for established customers.
If the vehicle's actual condition substantially differs from what was described at booking (significant additional pet hair, smoke damage, biological contamination, etc.), we will contact you with a revised quote before performing additional work. You may approve the additional cost, decline the additional work, or cancel the appointment (with deposit refund if cancellation occurs before any work begins).
Cancellation and rescheduling terms are summarized below and detailed in our separate Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We may reschedule appointments due to severe weather, road conditions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Weather-related reschedules incur no fees regardless of timing, and deposits are preserved for the rescheduled appointment.
By booking a service, you confirm that:
We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle during service. We make reasonable effort to leave personal items where we find them, but we cannot guarantee placement and we cannot be responsible for damage to or loss of any personal property left in the vehicle.
If your chosen service location presents safety hazards (unsafe terrain, restricted vehicular access, no water runoff, weather-exposed surfaces, etc.) we may decline to perform service on-site and offer alternative arrangements.
We use professional-grade equipment and chemicals (Chemical Guys PRO, CarPro / Optimum, Rupes, Mytee, Kärcher, OdorStop) and perform work to industry standards for the level of service booked. We will not knowingly use products or methods that would damage your vehicle.
Detailing services improve the appearance and condition of a vehicle but cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Some imperfections may be permanent (severe paint damage, set-in stains, biological damage, mechanical wear) and beyond what detailing can correct. We will communicate honestly about what is and is not achievable before and during service.
Ceramic coating warranties are provided by the coating manufacturer (CarPro, Optimum, etc.) and require following the manufacturer's maintenance instructions, which we will provide at completion. Failure to follow maintenance instructions may void the manufacturer warranty.
We are not responsible for pre-existing damage to your vehicle that we did not cause, including but not limited to:
Where reasonably possible, we will photograph notable pre-existing conditions before beginning work for both parties' protection.
We carry general liability and garage keepers insurance. In the unlikely event we cause damage to your vehicle through our negligence during service, our liability is governed by our insurance policies and the limitations in section 09.
You agree to report any claimed damage to us in writing within 48 hours of service completion to give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and respond. Damage reported after this window may not be covered, as it cannot reasonably be attributed to our service.
We are not liable for damage caused by:
To the maximum extent permitted by Wisconsin law: our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to a service is limited to the amount you paid for that specific service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost use, or diminished value, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, including for claims involving gross negligence or willful misconduct.
We may photograph or video record vehicles before, during, and after service for the following purposes:
By default, marketing use is opt-in: we will ask before publicly sharing any photo of your vehicle on our website, social media, or printed materials. License plates, identifying interior contents, and addresses are not shared. You may revoke marketing consent at any time by contacting us, and we will remove the material from any platform we control.
Customer portal accounts are provided for booking management, history, and (where applicable) membership management. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from compromised credentials.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for fraud, abuse, repeated no-shows without cause, or violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to active customers via email or text. Continuing to use our services after Terms updates constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Vernon County or La Crosse County, Wisconsin, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Before initiating any formal dispute, we ask that you contact us directly so we can attempt to resolve the matter in good faith. Most concerns can be addressed quickly and at no cost to either party through direct conversation.
